for the first time in years, i was not excitedly counting down the days to my birthday. instead, i anxiously awaited. it’s been a crazy and bizarre year so far - how many more breakdowns before 26th arrives? ⠀

turns out, being a birthday girl is still exciting. my soul is not calm, yet days and moments like this one, bring the hope back. hope that 28 will be a step toward a stable mind. it’s all i wished for, when i blew candles on this fabulous cake 🎂
