Wardrobe Staples: Summer ’25

I feel like I’m slowly losing the battle with my so-called “staples”. The original idea behind these seasonal wardrobe roundups was to highlight a few must-have pieces, items that define the season for me. But somehow, this summer’s capsule is turning into everything I wear during summer. Which is… all of it, basically. The silver lining (if you can call it that) is, that I got tired of searching for image material of every summery piece in my closet. But, the lines are blurry. Maybe that’s just the vibe of this season: a bit chaotic, a bit whatever works today.

There are a few other little wardrobe (and life) confusions currently circling around too.

The first one’s been lingering for a while: I’m not exactly feeling great in my skin. Or, to be more honest, I’m not feeling at home in it lately. I gained a few, and it’s like my clothes are sitting differently, not worse, just unfamiliar. I’m trying not to obsess, but it’s hard not to notice when even your favorite piece feel off. Some mornings, nothing feels quite right. But I’m working on it.

The second thing? A rather surprising twist: I seem to be leaning back into my girly era. Suddenly I’m drawn to mary janes, flowy skirts, even delicate jewelry. The minimalistic, pants-only version of me is a little confused, but the shift feels playful. Soft. Almost nostalgic. I don’t know if it’s Pinterest’s fault or just a craving for a different kind of comfort, but I’m leaning into it.

And third, it seems like this will be a rather colorful summer. Quite literally. I’m craving pinky, blueish hues and even prints (who am I?). Maybe it’s the sunshine or maybe it’s just my inner moodboard coming alive, but I’m here for it.

So yes, the summer wardrobe is less about “staples” and more about mood and dopamine dressing. About figuring it out as I go. About letting my clothes reflect the shifts: in style, in body, in life. And honestly? That feels more real than any neatly curated capsule ever did.
