To everyone new around here, hello, I’m Špela and I’m a Rome addict. What should be a 6 months-long trip got reduced to one week, but I managed to squeeze in as much as I could. After 7 days, I left filled with this amazing energy and zen energy this city always gives me. If 7 days can do me so much good, imagine what months could do?? #lifechanging
After being there countless times, you’d think I’d get bored, but no! I’ve found so many new and exciting spots I think another trip is simply inevitable. I’d get into my love for this city, but you can read it in my Rome Love Letters archive. But, being the self-titled expert on it, I though I’d share my long favorite or newly found spots around town that one needs to visit in my opinion. Are you up for a little Rome guide? Let’s do it!
Classic tourist spots
Of course, staying in the magical city of Rome, you absolutely can’t skip the usual classics. Colosseum, Pantheon, Il Vittoriano, Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps… The list goes on, but it’s worth to complete it!
Galleries
I am a bit of an art admirer, but if I have to choose, I’d mostly go for the contemporary era. You can find the earlier works in every tourist guide, but surprisingly, one rarely mentions those holding modernists… And there are quite a few! The upside is, they are usually quite empty so you can enjoy your art in peace.

Random nooks on the streets
When in Rome (or any other destination, really), the preferred way of transportation is by foot. That way you can really get the vibe of the city and explore every nook and cranny of it. And you can stop for ice-cream wherever! It’s good to plan, but leaving some space for spontaneity and turning in random streets get you the best view, trust me.
I could go on and on, but maybe save a little something for the next one… ♥
