Few months later and the clear blue sky and beautiful seaside of Lanzarote is still imprinted in my brains. The view was outstanding and I miss it terribly. The island takes your breath away the minute you step on it. We arrived at midnight, when it was pitch black and I kid you not, we were squealing the whole drive. Always thought of myself as a big cities kind of gal, but surrounded by the sea on the most relaxed and quiet island was actually perfect. This blue, white, green combination really wins you over in a second.
Being how small it is, you’d thought there’s not much to see, but one week is barely enough to go everywhere. So, for the first time in our history, we made a big plan of what we want to do. A bit of research and we were ready to conquer Lanzarote! With the map and a list of must-see landmarks we hit the road with our trusty white rental. And we crossed off almost everything! Only after coming home, I saw how much my soul needed a proper getaway. It’s like something clicks in my head and everything is better again. It happens every time I go away, I discover a piece of myself and it makes me come home with a whole different perspective. They say travel far enough, you meet yourself, and they couldn’t be more right.
