I might look like a proper material girl when you are scrolling through my social profiles, being excited about flowers, nice dresses or new shoes. And it’s true, I do enjoy nice things immensely. More and more, I’m drawn to beauty. In clothes, art, nature, people, photography, all things around us. For me, beauty is a feeling, a feeling of content.
But ultimately, it’s not the material that brings joy. It is the moments around it – gifting a perfect flower bouquet for one’s birthday, having a lovely night in a pretty dress, having fun and getting through hard conversations with the closest ones or admiring beauty together. Even this weird year hides some beauty, just maybe a tad harder to locate.
I’m a glass full kind of girl when it comes to finding a silver lining. If anything, I’ve learnt to take in, enjoy in a moment and save overthinking for later.
Beauty is how you feel inside, and it reflects in your eyes. It is not something physical.
