The Day After: Hungover Tips

Partying is a great thing no doubt, but the next morning can be a bit tougher to get through. No hungover is fun, but we can make the best of the situation with just few little things. Casper, the mattress company, swears by a day in bed along with a nice cup of coffee & maybe a shower! They are wondering how I deal with those types of days and here’s the deal:

My golden 4 rules

Sleep as much as possible. The day will be wasted, but sleeping off the hungover tiger is the best solution possible. If not sleeping, then at least staying in bed and resting.

Water is your best friend. Nothing is worse than waking up the next morning with sandy mouth, which can be easily prevented if you make an effort to put a big glass of water by your bed before crashing. You’ll thank yourself later, trust me.

Stay basic. Exotic flavours can upset the stomach, so keep your meals simple. Also, don’t over-eat.

Coffee always helps. When you come to your senses, cuppa joe is pretty much everything. Make a big mug and take time enjoying it.

Have to go out?

In the best scenario, you don’t need to leave the bed for more than half an hour at the time. But if you really have to be somewhere, there are ways to hide last night’s endeavours. Here’s my formula:

dry shampoo & half bun. Get rid of the greasiness and flatness with some dry shampoo, while you keep the hair out of your face and make it look presentable by putting it a half-bun.

lots of concealer & natural make up. Don’t over-cake your face, it only makes it more obvious. Hide the dark circles under your eyes, but keep everything else at minimum.

comfy, not sloppy. Keep it simple and comfortable, but leave sweats at home. Oversized sweater and some skinny jeans should do the trick!

Truthfully, I’m not a breakfast person, maybe more of a big snacker late in the morning. Getting up…
