Workout: 3 Months Update

If you remember, I’ve joined a local training centre back in September, signed a contract for a year in order to finally get my butt in shape. And boy was I in for a shock. After initial month of constant pain, everything got better! Three months later… I’ve just paid for my 4th month and I couldn’t be prouder of myself. Guys, I did it! Even though November wasn’t as active as I hoped, I still think I achieved my goal. *pats herself proudly on the back* Sadly almost all the progress of previous 2 months has been lost due to few sick weeks, but I’m now back on track with training, sore muscles and all.

Regime

I try to do 3 – 5 sessions per week. The more consistent I am, the easier it gets. I try do it consecutively so I don’t fall out of rhythm. I do weights at least once a week, piloxing (boxing and pilates mashed together) twice and the rest are some high intensity trainings. If I need a breather, I’ll switch to yoga or zumba for a day.

Results?

For starters, I’m not completely dead in the first 10 minutes of warm up. Also, for most of the time, I can still breathe when I’m finished. By now I manage to do few proper push ups per session without collapsing. I noticed my body is getting firmer, my will stronger and when I run to catch a bus, I no longer get out of breath. Getting my butt to the gym is becoming a habit now and ending a day without a session feels a bit weird. I’ll admit, the last half an hour before the session is the worst – I often feel so tired and tempted to cancel, but most of the time I pull through and it feels even better when I’m done.

Thoughts?

I am very happy I decided to take a plunge and make this commitment. Honestly, there is no better feeling than sore muscles the next day and knowing that you’re doing something amazing for yourself. I would never thought I’d hear myself say this, but I think I’m starting to enjoy exercise. Weird, huh?! My next goal is 6 months – let’s see if I make it!
