This DIY post was along time coming. I did another one before this, but it wasn’t the real chain and it had bigger chance of ripping apart. Because of that I ordered real chain and done the strap all over again. Actually really easy to do it, mine is pretty basic, but you can go a step forward and do some embellishments on the pad or something. This is perfect to style up your camera to make it chic and fashionable, so you’ll spend more time carrying it with you wherever you go!
For this you’ll need:
- Chain with ends that can be attached
- piece of leather
- round thingies that you put them on your camera to clip the chain on
- pliers, scissors, needle & thread
- and of course, a camera to strap on!
The first step will be setting on the round thingies with the pliers. It’s pretty easy once you get a hang of it. It’s also important that you do this right, so the strap doesn’t fall off.
Now let’s move to the shoulder pad. Measure how long and wide you want your pad to be and cut the leather.
Then pin the pad together so the sewing part will be easier.
When you have your perfect pad measured, cut and pinned, it’s time to sew the ends together.
And there you have it, my friends! A stylish strap for your lovely camera! My next project is definitely pimping up the camera bag to match the strap…
